Hzymes' IVD Solutions Exchange Conference in Wuhan a Great Success

Deepening innovation in IVD raw materials, building channel partnerships for shared success — on September 17, Hzymes welcomed distributors, industry experts, and media guests from across the country to its R&D and manufacturing base in Wuhan's Optics Valley for the “Exploring Manufacturing Together, Advancing as One” IVD Diagnostic Solutions Exchange Conference.

Combining a facility tour, industry insights, and in-depth partner dialogue, the event focused on three key areas: innovation in core IVD raw materials, market-ready commercialization, and deeper channel collaboration — aiming to bridge information gaps between supply and demand and chart a new path for high-quality growth in the in vitro diagnostics industry.

On-Site Tour: A First-Hand Look at R&D and Manufacturing Strength

The conference opened with a guided tour of Hzymes' Wuhan production base, led by Zhang Wei, General Manager of the Wuhan R&D and Manufacturing Center. Guests walked through the company's full production chain — from R&D quality testing and fermentation purification to enzyme preparation and reagent packaging — gaining a firsthand view of Hzymes' integrated capabilities in independent research, production, quality control, and stable supply.

Industry Dialogue: Opportunities and Shifts in the IVD Sector

The conference was hosted by Jin Hongsen, Co-Founder of Hzymes.

Yin Liang, Vice Chairman of the Medical Testing Industry Branch of the China Health Industry Enterprise Management Association, delivered opening remarks recognizing Hzymes' progress in advancing domestic, self-sufficient core IVD raw materials. He noted that the in vitro diagnostics industry is at a critical stage of transformation, and that core raw materials — the “chips” of the IVD industry — are central to the sector's competitiveness and security through self-reliance and innovation. He highlighted Hzymes' role in strengthening domestic supply and offered the audience of distributors valuable perspective for their market strategies.

Yang Guangyu, Founder and Chairman of Hzymes, shared the company's decade-long growth story: starting from a five-person team in a 54-square-meter space, Hzymes built China's largest proteinase K production line in just 77 days, reaching an annual capacity of over 1,500 kg and holding the top domestic market share for consecutive years. The company also broke Roche's global monopoly on EPS-G7, a core raw material for pancreatitis testing, achieving substantial domestic substitution since its launch. Today, Hzymes has grown into a National “Little Giant” enterprise for specialized, sophisticated innovation, with more than 300 employees, two R&D centers, and two production facilities.

Looking ahead, Yang described Hzymes' AI-powered directed enzyme evolution platform as the company's next challenge — tackling critical bottleneck enzymes and evolving from an IVD raw material supplier into a core technology platform for life sciences and biomedicine, in partnership with the broader industry. His remarks — “pessimists are always right, but optimists move forward” — resonated strongly with the audience.

Product Deep Dive: Meeting Real Channel Needs

Jin Hongsen also presented a dedicated session on Hzymes' product solutions, addressing real clinical pain points through the lens of technical principles, clinical performance, instrument compatibility, and competitive positioning. The session focused on two flagship products — the dual-parameter enzymatic HbA1c assay and the anti-interference creatinine reagent — both of which drew strong interest from distribution partners in attendance.

A Q&A session followed, with guests raising practical questions on registration and licensing pathways, cooperation models, pricing structures, and academic marketing strategies. The discussion culminated in shared agreement on a collaborative model pairing upstream technology and raw material innovation with downstream market execution through distribution channels.

Building Together, Moving Forward

Backed by strong technology, products, and production capacity, Hzymes looks forward to deepening partnerships with distributors, co-building regional markets, and sharing in the growth of the IVD industry.

Guided by its core values — “Customer First, Innovation, Excellence, Accountability, Win-Win” — and its mission to “Innovate Core Technology for the Benefit of Life,” Hzymes will continue to advance enzyme engineering at the foundational level, delivering high-quality domestic raw materials and complete solutions. Together with its distribution partners, Hzymes aims to turn technological strength into market value — advancing hand in hand toward a broader future for the in vitro diagnostics and biopharmaceutical industries.
