Human erythropoietin (EPO) is a naturally occurring hormone secreted mainly by the kidney. It regulates erythropoiesis by stimulating the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of erythroid precursor cells in the bone marrow, resulting in increased red blood cell production.


EPO plays an essential role in oxygen transport regulation and hematopoietic research. Recombinant human EPO (rhEPO) is widely studied for applications related to erythroid cell development, anemia mechanisms, and protein expression analysis.
