Mouse IL-12 mRNA encodes murine interleukin-12 (IL-12), a heterodimeric cytokine composed of IL-12p35 (IL-12a) and IL-12p40 (IL-12b) subunits. IL-12 is a key immunoregulatory cytokine involved in the activation and differentiation of immune cells, particularly in promoting Th0 cell differentiation toward Th1 cells, stimulating Th1 cell proliferation, and inducing IFN-γ production by NK cells and T cells.
