Product Overview


Cas9 mRNA encodes the Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9 (SpCas9) protein, one of the most widely used CRISPR-associated nucleases for genome editing applications. As the core component of the CRISPR-Cas9 system, Cas9 protein forms a complex with single guide RNA (sgRNA) to recognize target DNA sequences and induce precise double-strand DNA breaks (DSBs) at specific genomic loci.


This Cas9 mRNA encodes a SpCas9 protein containing nuclear localization signals (NLS) at both the N- and C-termini, facilitating efficient nuclear transport after translation and enhancing DNA cleavage activity. A C-terminal HA epitope tag is incorporated to enable convenient detection, identification, and purification of the expressed Cas9 protein.


The product is synthesized through in vitro co-transcriptional capping and purified by precipitation and desalting processes. With a theoretical length of 4522 nt, Cas9 mRNA enables efficient and sustained protein expression in mammalian cells, making it suitable for CRISPR-based genome editing research and functional studies.
