Product Overview
Endo H is a recombinant glycosidase cloned from Streptomyces plicatus and overexpressed in E. coli. It cleaves the chitobiose core of high-mannose oligosaccharides and a limited number of hybrid oligosaccharides from asparagine-linked glycoproteins, it does not cleave complex-type glycan chains.
One unit of enzyme activity is defined as the amount of enzyme required to remove >95% of the carbohydrates from 10 μg of denatured RNase B in a total reaction volume of 10 μl within 1 hour at 37°C.
Key Features
Recombinant Expression in E. coli
Produced in E. coli as a recombinant glycosidase derived from Streptomyces plicatus, with no detectable contamination from exoglycosidases or other glycosidase activities.
Tag-Free Protein Design
Expressed without purification tags, facilitating downstream separation in workflows involving affinity-tagged proteins.
High Purity
Purity is typically >95% as assessed by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Good Activity and Storage Stability
Demonstrates consistent enzymatic activity under recommended conditions and is stable for up to 2 years when properly stored.
Applications
Antibody and Glycoprotein Glycan Analysis
Used for profiling high-mannose and certain hybrid N-linked glycans on antibodies and glycoproteins, supporting structural and functional studies.
Enzymatic Glycoengineering Workflows
Can be used in combination with enzymes such as Endo S and GalT in antibody glycan remodeling and conjugation strategies based on N-glycan structures.
