Background

Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) is a revolutionary technology in the field of molecular biology and is widely used in disease diagnostics, genetic testing, forensic identification, and many other areas.

Traditional PCR reaction systems require storage at low temperatures and are easily affected by temperature fluctuations and contamination. As a result, they come with high transportation costs and are inconvenient to use, limiting their application in resource-limited regions and on-site rapid testing. Therefore, the development of PCR reagents that are easy to use, stable in performance, and convenient for storage and transport has become a key research direction for the industrialization of molecular diagnostics. The emergence of PCR lyophilization technology offers an effective solution to this problem.

Lyophilized PCR reagents refer to PCR components (including DNA polymerase, reverse transcriptase, dNTPs, MgCl₂, buffer, primers, etc. ) that have been freeze-dried into a stable powder or pellet form. After reconstitution with water, the PCR reaction can proceed directly. Compared with conventional liquid PCR reagents, lyophilized PCR reagents offer stronger stability, greater portability and usability, and compatibility with automated equipment—greatly expanding PCR’s practical applications in fields such as rapid pathogen detection, genetic testing, and forensic identification.

As PCR technology continues to evolve, the application scope of lyophilized PCR reagents will further expand. Particularly in developing countries and resource-limited regions, and with growing demand in overseas markets, the transportation stability and cost advantages of lyophilized reagents will play an increasingly important role, contributing significantly to disease prevention and public health efforts.

Product Overview

This product supports lyophilization with primers and probes pre-included, allowing users to directly add sample nucleic acids during use. It supports  singleplex and multiplex detection, and incorporates a UDG-dUTP contamination control system  to effectively prevent the risk of aerosolized amplicon contamination.
